Many moons ago, when I was a teenager, my grandmother told me it was time for me to get braces to close the gap in my teeth. I protested by telling her that the gap in my teeth “gave me character.” She was unmoved, and took me down to the Orthodontist office for a consultation. After the consult, the handed my grandmother a quote for the total cost of the braces. She took one look at the quote and said to me: “You know what? Your gap does give you character!”
As my kids have all been getting braces, one by one, the thought crossed my mind that perhaps I should finally get braces to correct my gaps. After consulting with the office, the best route consists of lots of rubber bands and almost like a mouth piece that I will have to wear for 6 months to correct an over bite, before the braces go on. This sounds awful, and it is because I have to remove all this stuff in my mouth when I brush and before every meal.
I really needed to look on the bright side and I think I have found it. I am certain that it is no longer worth the trouble to snack in-between meals, because it takes so much time and effort to enable myself to eat. Forget will power, I think I have found the secret to stop snacking – braces!
I will add this to my diet regiment and should see results fast! 🙂
