Quick update: since this was the end of my first week and Sat. was a cheat day.
When I have done the slow carb or keto diets I can’t wait for cheat day. I have eaten so much eggs and meat, that I am almost sick, so the cheat day where you carb load is a relief.
That was not the case for this cheat day. Because I am not eating unhealthy, meaning I am just eating vegetables, fruits, whole wheat products etc. there was not that feeling of elation from cheat day. In fact, outside of making a tuna fish sandwich, I really did not do much else – tuna being on the outside of what I am supposed to eat.
I made it all the way to Sat evening when I decided I better eat a little meat, just to keep my system used to it, so I made red beans and rice with a tiny bit of cut up smoked sausage. I assumed this would increase my weight a little, but that was to be expected.
I just weighed in however, and I am exactly 230 lbs, with the 229’s flashing on the scale. This means that eating those things on cheat day and in moderation were not a factor in increasing my weight.
This gives me hope for the upcoming week, that I can get into the 220’s. The plan is to increase my exercise, now that I am feeling better and used to the diet. I will keep drinking water and using the supplements.
One final unrelated thought: I watched the movie Tolkien on Sat. and it got me thinking: just like A Christmas Carol, I have never actually read The Hobbit or The Lord of the Ring series, so I decided to pick them up and I am 1/3 of the way through The Hobbit and hope to compete the entire series by the end of January.
